Beethoven Decomposing

An old photo manipulation number based on the punch line to a very funny joke. I worked on 3 images to get to this one:

1> Low res image of an etching of Beethoven
2> Low res image of a Black Moore Goldfish
3> Hi res image of some bad teeth

Lessons learnt while producing this piece: Work with hi-res images whenever you can.

Glassfruit Tree

The Glassfruit is a winter fruit. Glassfruit trees have transparent fruits & foliage. They look like dead trees and the transparent fruits & leaves can be made out by the way they catch light. Human Glassfruit eaters are characterized by broken teeth, cut up tongues and bleeding mouths. An excellent source of nourishment to silicon-based life forms.

The Knit

Close-up of a frog faced being that evolves from rotting banana peels. Not to be confused with common garden nit which live in the beards of garden gnomes.

The Ghost of Nishanth Nicolas de Coconut & His Topsy-Turvy Demons

Nishanth was a schoolmate from 1991. One of my good friends & partner in crime. A total whacko who was into Louis A. Lamour and a penchant for making blood curdling bird cries. One day he decided to call himself Nishanth Nicolas de Coconut for no apparent reason. Oddly the long name really did suite him. We were constantly conniving to trap & torture his elder brother for no fault of his. We were dastard villains surrounded by archrivals & bucketloads of their minions (other dicks at school). Sadly I've lost touch with this gem of a guy.

Stuff of Vegan Nightmares

Homage to a fallen cock of many meals gone by. You made one hell of a biryani. But there were bits of you that was totally unacceptable. Burp!

Octopus Dreams

I finally got the hang of using the blender brushes on Painter IX software. Its a Self portrait drawing heavily from an octopus. The octopus idea came to me while listening to the Beatles song 'Octopus's Garden'. Lot of flaws ( & cover ups if you've seen me work). See if you point them out.

Underground Culture

2 hours of experimenting on brushes in Photoshop. Click image to enlarge and wait patiently for image to load.
This image has nothing to do with urban youth and their stupidity. Instead I'm referring to fungal cultures. Its abstract, so move along.

Layout update

I've been fiddling with the layout of this blog. It is yet another attempt to start blogging. Let me know what you think about the colour scheme etc.
